Latest statistics state that 17% of all children living in Newcastle-Under-Lyme and 25% of all children living in Stoke-On-Trent reside in low income families.
It is widely acknowledged that a childhood spent in poverty adversely impacts education, occupation, income and ill health. Alice Charity’s vision is to help these vulnerable families by providing an accessible service ensuring those most in need build confidence, take control and find purpose.
Not everyone’s family is as fortunate as yours so our mandate is to transform families, empowering those most in need to improve their own circumstances for both this generation and the next in order to create long term sustainability.

Local car paintwork repair company, ChipsAway Stoke-on-Trent, are heading up a campaign to encourage more women to feel confident when it comes to all things automotive, with the launch of their annual ‘Ladies Day’ on March 18th.
Cas Clifford-Wareham, co-owner of the ChipsAway Car Care Centre based at Trentham Lakes, comments: “Recent research reported that almost a third of females feel they have been ripped off for servicing and repair work done to their car, purely because they are female. It’s therefore no wonder that so many of our female customer’s feel uncomfortable when it comes to anything car-related.
“With International Women’s Day also coming up, we are taking the opportunity to prove this isn’t the case for us – showing the local ladies there is a safe, secure and honest environment right on their doorstep. The aim of the ‘Ladies Day’ event is to break down barriers, and encourage women to have the confidence they should when it comes to the automotive world and getting their cars repaired!”
ChipsAway have secured Signal 1’s breakfast show presenter Emma Jones to host the event, and plan to have lots of interactive areas, with the option to even try your hand at a repair, as well as lots of nibbles and fizz!
“It will be a friendly and informal event that all local ladies are invited along to,” enthuses Cas.
ChipsAway Stoke-on-Trent are very keen to support the local community, businesses and charity, and have partnered with Alice Charity, who they will be raising money for going forward. Alice Charity will also be coming along to the event, where ChipsAway will be offering 10% off all repairs booked in using their ‘Ladies Day’ flyer – which will go directly to Alice Charity.
“Our mission is to provide exceptional quality, value-for-money repairs, whilst maintaining the utmost level of customer service, delivered with honesty and integrity, so our customers can be assured of an all-round first-class service. Whether male or female, young or old, our customers are always treated with the respect they deserve and we can’t wait to help more local women feel confident in dealing with automotive repairs!” concludes Cas.
The event will be held on 18th March at the Car Care Centre – Trentham Trade Park – so to all the ladies locally – why not pop down and show your support!?
